We prefer to build solid wood stairs in the shop, there are some cases where it is impractical and requires stairs to be built in the field. For most stairs, building in the shop is more efficient and more economical. This particularly applies to curved or elliptical stairs.

Rather than have a crew on site for a few weeks building a curved stairway, the work is done in shop and delivered to the site. This production method eliminates congestion and potential damage to the staircase during the building process.

To ensure the process goes well a framing template is provided. The curvature of the template is an exact copy of the staircase, as it will be built in the shop.

One of the reasons stairs are built on site is to allow access to the upper floors. As part of the service temporary stairs are provided.

We stay in contact with the building inspector to insure that the staircase is code-compliant. No delays or unexpected surprises.
